An extensive refurbishment of a 6-storey office building in Mayfair for a prestigious international firm. The project involved the strip-out to shell and core and an extensive Cat B fit-out to the primary three floors, including a new entrance area and state-of-the-art conferencing facilities.

Kay Rowe Nursery School is located in Forest Gate, at the historic threshold to Epping Forest and nearby to the archaeological site of the 1000 year old 'Newham bead'. The site is conceived as a forest-like clearing within the urban scrum of chicken shops and estate agents. The materials and forms reinforce the schools central focus of natural-led play. A series of three pitched-roof cabin-like forms collect around a central entrance courtyard, giving views out separately to the ground, trunks and tree canopy above.
Refurbishment and extension of beach house in Andalusia. A reinterpretation of the courtyard house typical of the region, the landscaping creates 4 distinct zones to escape the ferocious sun and take advantage of the sea breeze.
Rhyl Primary School Entrance Areas
Build Cost - £175,000
Rhyl Primary School is a Listed Building originally built as part of the London School Board programme in 1898. The new entrance sequence takes the lost staircase that once wound through the building and repeats it as a 'quiet memory' that finds itself imprinted in the joinery, the canopy structure, the railings and the finishes underfoot.
A new restaurant and bar in Clerkenwell.
Build Cost - £25,000
Influenced by windsurf sails and beach groins, this RIBA Competition winning scheme (in collaboration with Tom Ebdon Architects) sought to re-connect promenading visitors with the raw, breathtaking and ever-changing weather conditions of the sea.
This rear extension to a Victorian terraced house is conceived as a continuation of the piecemeal developments which have occurred within and around the dwelling across time. Two new framed volumes provide structural support to the main house. One acts as a subservient partner, crouching behind a contentious party wall and carrying primary loads of the existing building. The conjoined larger volume faces out into the rear garden, effectively drawing it into the interior of the house.
A compact new rooftop extension and staircase cleaved to a former mews building in Oval that was formerly used as a printworks. The folded roof geommetry splays to allow dramatic stage-like lighting effects to play out through the buildings interior, illuminating the plethora of props and objects collected throughout the lifetime of the owners.
